The staff members of Sunshine Gardens work hard to help achieve our district's LCAP goals. The goals are as follows:

Goal 1: The district will provide a high quality educational program that focuses on raising the overall academic achievement and social learning environment for all students.

Goal 2: Identified classified staff, certificated and administrative staff will participate in professional development trainings that will assist in: 1. Preparing our students for college, career and lifelong readiness and/or 2. Providing on-going support for learning and growth within the profession to increase skills to better support the engagement and attendance of all students.

Goal 3: The district will increase student, parent, and community engagement and support programs that foster a stronger, more positive, connection between school and home.

The School Site Council (SSC) meets throughout the year to discuss site plans that align to the district LCAP goals. Some of the ways Sunshine Gardens has worked to meet these goals is by receiving professional development in writing instruction to help support our students' academic growth; implementing programs such as Soul Shoppe and PlayWorks to promote students' social-emotional learning; and working to connect with our community through various school events as well as increase involvement in our PTA and ELAC.

If your child attends Sunshine Gardens and you are interested in helping us work towards these LCAP goals, please let Ms. Biddy know you are interested in supporting our School Site Council!
